2、hetheoryoftheopticalparametricoscillatorisexaminedandcomparedtotheexperimentintheregimeoffarbelowthreshold.Itisfoundthattheoutputstatehasnodifferencefromspontaneousparametricdown-conversionexceptthatthebandwidthofdown-conversionisreducedtothatoftheresonatorandtheconversio

3、nrateisenhancedbycavityresonance.Thereductionofthebandwidthofthedown-converted®eldsmakesitpossibleforadirectmeasurementofthetimeintervaldistributionbetweentwodown-convertedphotons.Theobserveddistributionsarewellexplainedbythetheory.Suchanarrow-bandtwo-photonsourcewill®ndw
