5、ns-polyacetylene);polyaniline(PANI),whendopedwithaprotonicacid;andpoly(dioctyl-bithiophene)(PDOT).HistoryIn1862,HenryLethebyobtainedapartlyconductivematerialbyanodicoxidationofanilineinsulfuricacid.Thematerialwasprobablypolyaniline.Inthe1950s,itwasdiscoveredthatpolycyclicaromaticcompoundsfo
6、rmedsemi-conductingcharge-transfercomplexsaltswithhalogens.Thisfindingindicatedthatorganiccompoundscouldcarrycurrent.Highconductivityof1S/cminlinearbackbonepolymers(inaniodine-"doped"andoxidizedpolypyrroleblack)wasreportedin1963.Likewise,anactualorganic-polymerelectronicdevicewasreportedint
