3、ctice,whichisveryhelpfulforteachersimprovetheirteachingreasonably.ActionresearchhaslongbeenatraditioninsomeforeigncountriesbutitisrelativelynewEnglishlanguageteachersinChina.Nevertheless,ithasbeenadoptedinteachers’educationprogramsinChinainrecentyears.Theactionresearchcomponentwassuccessful
4、lyconductedbytheSino—BritishMA-certificate,TEFLprogramatBeijingNormalUniversityunderthesupervisionsofTonyFitzgeraldandChinesecounterpartWangQiang,andhasachievedarelativesatisfyingresultofactingasfacilitator,towardsacommongoalofeffectiveteachingandprofessionaldevelopmentofteachers,tobridgeto
5、getherforeignlanguageteachingtheoryandactualteachingpractice.Therefore,pursuingtheidealpatternofactionresearchanddesigningtheactionresearchprogramadaptableinChinaisdemandingandchallengingfortheforeignlanguageteachers.Tosumuptheexperienceandproblemsofthepreviousactionresearchprojectsinforeig
6、nlanguageteaching,toapplythetheoryofactionresearchandverifyitinforeignlanguageteachingpracticeareofimportantvaluein2promotingthereformationoflanguageteaching.Unfortunately,asurveyconductedbyLiuRunqing&DaiManchunin2003showsthatonly5.2%ofcollegeEnglishteachersinChinaarefamiliarwithactionresea
