4、adasathedevelopmentoffirstprototypeshaveshownthatWLAN-cost-effectivealternative.InourDrive-thruInternetproject,basedInternetaccessformovingvehiclesisfeasibleandcanbeaninterestingandcost-effectivealternativetoGSM/3G-basedwehaveproventhatWLANtechnologyis

5、suitabletobuildapproaches.Wepresentanapproachthatisbasedontheconceptconnectivityislandsforwideareanetworkswithintermittentofnearlynets,explicitlyconsideringtheintermittentnatureconnectivitysupportingmobileusersincars[4].Insuchaofconnectivitythatmaybel

6、imitedtoshortperiodsoftime.network,thehotspotsarelocatedinirregulardistancesalongBasedonmeasurementsandsimulations,wehavedevelopedantheroad,mostlikelyprovidedbysingleorgroupsofaccessarchitectureenablingusefulInternetconnectivitywhendrivingthroughisola

7、tedhotspots.Thisarchitecturesupportsmobilityinpointsatgasstations,restaurants,orinrestareas,withno(orsuchnetworksrelyingonapplication-layermobilitymechanisms.limitedcellular)connectivityin-between.Wealsodiscusstransportandapplicationprotocolperformanc
