3、lsystem.TheauthorsprovideacasestudyofKunmingWorldExpo.Thepaper,firstly,examinestheformingmechanismofspatialeffectsandresearchframeworkofthemega-events.Andtheauthorspointoutthatmega-eventsarethesocialprogressimplantedintourbanprocessandtheirspatialeffectsarederivedfromtheirint

4、ernalattributesof"spatialinvestment"and"socialmobilization".Andtheso-cial-spatialdialecticoftheneo-Marxismistheframeworkforanalyzingspatialeffectsofsocialprocess.ThemethodologyofempiricalresearchisadoptedinthispaperandtheauthorsexaminetheinfluencingperiodofKunmingWorldExpo(19

5、97-2003)withaquantitativeanalysis.ThenthepaperanalyzesmaincharacteristicsofurbanspatialevolutioninKunmingduring1997-2003.Theauthorsconcludethecharacteristicsfromthefollowingfouraspects.(1)Thetimeseriesoftheurbanspatialevolutionareadvancedandtheinvestmentofurbanspaceentersinto

6、peakseasonandthereconstructingofphysicalspaceisrelativelyadvanced;(2)theKunmingWorldExpoleadsphysicalspaceintogrowingataxialdirectionandthenortheastpartincreasesrapidly;(3)evolutionofurbansocialspacepresentsvaryingcharacteristicswhichdifferfromthesimilarcities;(4)itestablishe

7、sanexplainingframeoftherelationbetweenKunmingWorldExpoandspatialevolu-tion.TheauthorsbelievethattheWorldExpoinfluencesevolutionofurbanspacethroughthefollowingas-pects.(1)Creatingafavorableenvironmentofinvestmentforspatialreconstructioninordertoattractlargeamountofspatialinves

8、tment;(2)socialmobilizationminimizesthecostofreconstructionofurbansp
