1、SolvedwithCOMSOLMultiphysics4.3aCirculatingFluidizedBedIntroductionThismodelsimulatestheoperationofacirculatingfluidizedbed.Inthisapparatusthedispersedphase,consistingofsolidsphericalparticles,isfluidizedbyagasandtransportedthroughaverticalriser.Uponreachin
2、gtheoutlet,thedispersedphaseisre-injectedinthevicinityofthegasinletatthebottomofthebed.Tostudytheflowinthefluidizedbed,themodelusestheEuler-Eulermodel.ThephasepropertiesandmodelsetupfollowthoseinRef.1.ModelDefinitionFigure1displaysthegeometryofthefluidizedb
3、ed,andschematicallydescribesitsmeansofoperation.Thefluidphase,consistingofair,isinjectedatthebottomofthebed.Thedispersedphase,particleswithadiameterof54μm,arefluidizedbythegasflowandtransportedupwards.Attheoutlet,particlesandgasexitthebed.Theparticlesarefed
