4、esultinthosefields．Mostrecently,thestudyofhumorisflourishingfromtheperspectivesofpragmatics，semantics，scio—linguistics，rhetoricaswellascognitivelinguistics．Thisthesis，basedonthepreviousstudies，triestomakeareasonableexplanationforgenerationandinterpretationofthe

5、verbalhumorinIpa,4tmentfromtheperspectiveofcognitiveflamesmainlybasedonFillmore’SflamesemanticsandCoulson’Sflame—shiftingtheory．Linguisticdataarecollectedfromthefirstseasonandthesecondseasonofthissituationcomedy．ByreferringtoZhangZhe’Sclassificationofhumorfroms

6、chematheoryintofourtypes，namely,humoroflinguisticschema，humorofformalschema，humorofculturalschemaandhumorofpragmaticschema，thisthesismakesanattemptinclassifyingverbalhumorinIpartmentintothreecategoriesofhumor,thatisverbalhfimoroflinguisticflame，verbalhumoroffor

7、malflame，andverbalhumorofculturalflame．ThefirstcategoryofhumormakesfulluseofChinesecharacteristicsatdifferentlevels，forinstance，phonology,phonetics，morphology,syntax，lexicologyandpragmaticsandetc，astoproducehumor．ThesecondcategoryshowsChinesevarietyinorganizing

8、ideas，especiallyitsrhetoricskills，suchashyperbole，pun，parody，personificationandetc．Suchskillsplayanimportantroleingenerationandinterpretationofhumor．Butthelastcategoryconcer
