2、epreviouslyreportedinterferometersbasedoncascadedlongperiodgratingsinSMFs.AfurtherinvestigationonhowtoenhancetheRIsensitivityforthedetectionofslightcomponentialchangeofthesurroundingmediumisalsocarriedout.Thelowtemperaturesensitivitygreatlyreducestheeffectofcross-sens
3、itivityintherefractiveindexmeasurement.Thetotallengthofthepresentdeviceisonly8.84mmshowingexcellentcompactness.(3)Micro-taperinterferometerisproposedforthemeasurementofrelativehumidity.Theenergyoffundamentalmodecouplestohigherordermodes(mainlyHE12mode)overthetransitio
4、nregionwhichcanactasabeamsplitter/combiner.TheinterferometricfringescanbeobservedasaresultofthephasedifferencebetweentheHE11andHE12modes.Thesensitivityofproposedinterferometertoexternalrelativehumidityandtemperaturearemeasuredas97.4pm/%RHand-4.74pm/°C,respectively.The
