2、idthofSDHwhichiswelladoptedbybackbonetransmissionnetworknowadays,itbecomesthebottlenecklimitingthedevelopment.WDMisalsocriticizedbecauseofinflexibleinnetworking.BuildingbackbonetransmissionnetworkwithOTNtocoverthestategridwillbringnewprospectsfortheelectricpowerbackbon

3、etransmissionnetwork.OTNcanincreasethebandwidthandaddfeaturestothetransmissionnetwork.OwingtotheOTNnetworkcarryinglargeamountsofinformation,oncetheinterruptofcommunicationprocess,itwillbringhugeeconomiclossesandserioussocialimpact.Thusthenetworksurvivabilityissuesbecom

4、eincreasinglyprominent.ThisarticlebrieflyintroducestheOTNconceptandthendescribestheprotectionandrecoverytechniquesofnetworksurvivabilityfromtheperspectiveofthenetworktopology.Consideringthedevelopmenttrendofelectricpowerbackbonetransmissionnetwork,thispaperresearchthes

5、urvivabilityoflarge-capacitymeshnetwork.Itfocusesonthepre-ring(P-cycle)protectionalgorithm.ItintroducesevaluationcriteriaoftheP-cyclealgorithmandthetwomainproblemsthosearefindingcyclesandcapacityassignment.Thenthispaperputsforwardanalgorithmwhichisimprovedthecapacitate

6、diterativedesignalgorithm(CIDA).TakingintoaccountthatOTNmustcoexistwithexistingnetworkssuchasSDHinitially,thisarticlealsopresentsP-cycledesignformixed-linerate(MLR)opticalnetworks.Inthispaper,itprogramsandsimulatestheimprovedalgorithmandMLRP-cyclealgorithmthoughMATLABa
