5、rns(regionwithnegativevalues)thatareusuallyassociatedwithlowradiances,suchasthemeasurementsathighozoneorhighsolarzenithangles,typicalconditionsatthehighlatituderegions.Themeasurementsoflowradiancesareaffectedmorebystraylightsandtheintrinsicinstrumentnoises.3.Incorrect(toolow)terrainpr

6、essureorradiativecloudpressures(RCP)leadtoerroneousfillvaluesintheTRLdata.Incorrect(low)RCPcanalsoleadtofillvaluesinTRMdatafieldsduetotheblockingofthesignalsfromtheaprioriSO2profilethatiscompletelyunderthehighcloud.4.TheintrinsicnoiseinOMIradiancemeasurementsleadstonoiseinSO2retrieval

7、s.ThisintrinsicSO2noiseisatlevelhigherthanthetypicalsignalsfromanthropogenicSO2pollutions.ConsequentlydailyobservationsofanthropogenicSO2arelimitedtoareawithhighconcentrations(>10ppb.).NotethatthepixelqualityflagsinOMSO2arereliableinidentificationofthetrueSO2signalsforhighloading(>10D
