4、playsanimportantroleinmedicalimageanalysis.Inthispaper,anefficientapproachtoROIextractionbasedonmonotonicallymarchingcurveevolutionisproposed.Theimprovementisintwoaspects:first,anewmonotonicallymarchingsnakeintegratingROIinformationispresentedbyminimizingthenewdefinedROIenerg
5、y.Duetotheregionbasedspeedterm,thefrontcouldevenpropagateinlowcontrastandnarrowthinareas.Second,amulti-initialfastmarchingalgorithmisdevelopedfornumericalimplementation,whereamulti-initialschemecanperformtheselectivegrowthofthefront,thusfurtherreducethefrontleaking.Furthermor
6、e,amultiscaleschemefornumericalimplementationisadopted,whereafastpassingsolutionmethodisusedfordeterminingtheinitialsolutiononthefinerscalethatgreatlyreducesthecomputationalcost.ThevalidityoftheproposedapproachisdemonstratedonthemedicalimageROIextraction.Experimentalresultssh
