3、t.Thishashadgraveimpactsontheenvironment,especiallyregardingCO2emissions.Examiningopportunitiesfortakingmeasuresinordertomitigatetheseimpactsonurbanlevelisarathernewconcept,whichemergedfromtheincreasedsensitivityofurbanareas,duetothelargenumberofpeoplethatlivethereandareexposedtotheseimpact

4、s.Greencitylogisticssolutionsaregainingimportanceastheyfocus,notonlyonmobility,butal-sototheothertwo‘neglected’sidesofcitylogistics:sustainabilityandviability.Stockholmisacityinthefrontlineofsustainability.Thehighsensitivityofthelocalgovernmentandtheinhabitantsisreflectedinthemanyambitiouse

5、nvironmentaltargetsthathavebeenset,withmostprominenttheonetobecomeafossil-fuelfreecityby2050.However,whenitcomestofreighttransport,thesituationismoreorlessonthecontrolofprivatecompanies,withlittlepublicinvolvement,apartfromafewnotableexemptions.Therearegreatpossibilitiesforgovernmentalactio

6、nonthedirectionofsustainableurbanfreighttransport,sothattheotherenvironmentaltar-getscanbeachievedaswell.ThemainobjectiveofthisthesisistopresentgreenlogisticssolutionsastheyhavebeenorareplannedtobeimplementedinStockholmandtoprovidesuggestionsforfutureaction,inaccordancetothecurrentEuropeanp

7、olicyandbasedonexpe-riencesfromotherEuropeancities.TheaimistoidentifyandstimulateStockholm’sauthorities’levelofawarenessonurbanfreight,sinceitisacommonperceptionthatstronggovernmentalguidanceandsupportcanguaranteethesuccessofmostgreenlogisticsmeasures.Pr
