3、alparametersandthedevelopmentofthedirectionalcoupler,anddescribedthequalitativecharacteristicsofthecouplerandthemainworkofthispaper.Secondly,weintroducedandanalysisthetheoryofthedirectionalcoupler.Theodd-even-modemethodwhichdescribedindetailinthispaperisoneofthemostcommonlyusedmeth

4、odinanalysisingtheparallel-coupledtransmissionlinedirectionalcoupler.Eitherasingleormulti-elementcoupledtransmissionlinescanbeequivalenttoasingleormulti-elementstepped-impedancefilter.Thus,thefour-portnetworkisequivalenttoatwo-portnetwork.Thenwecombinedtheodd-even-modemethodwiththe

5、characteristicsofmicrowavenetwork,andanalysedtheequivalentABCDmatrixandthescatteringmatrixofthedirectionalcouplerindetail.Thenweintroducedthecoupler’simportantcharacteristics,striplineandcoupledstripline.andderivedthemethodofhowtocalculatethevarioustechnicalparameters.Thirdly,thesi

6、ngle,symmetricmulti-elementcoupledtransmissionlinesandasymmetricmulti-elementcoupledtransmissionlineswereanalysedandsynthetizedbyodd-even-modeanalysistheoryandmicrowavenetworktheory.Theanalysisandsynthesisofdirectionalcouplerwithsinglecoupledlineisrelativelyeasy.Theanalysisofdirect

7、ionalcouplerwithmulti-elementcoupledtransmissionlinesbasesontheodd-even-modemethod.Thesynthesisofsymmetricdirectionalcouplerusethesinepolynomialapproximation,andthesynthesisofasymmetricdirectionalcouplerusetheChebyshevpolynomialapproximation.Thesecomplicatedsynthesiscanalsobeimplem
