3、inefficientrotatingequipmentandelectricmotorsystem.Someofthetypicaldesignexamplesthatresultinhigherenergyusagearegivenbelow.·Arotatingequipmentservingmultipleend-userswithvariedprocessneeds.·Under-designedsystemcomponentssuchasasmallerpipediameter,along
4、erpiperun,and/orasmallercontrolvalvetakingexcessivepressuredrop.·Amulti-passheatexchangertoobtainclosertemperatureapproachandanexchangerwithasmallersurfaceareatoreducethecapitalcost.Theprocess,however,ispenalizedwithahigherpressuredropandahigherannualop
5、eratingcost.·Aroutinepracticeintheprocessindustrytodesignprocesscontrolvalvesthatconsumeasmuchas30%ofthesystempressuredropor10psiminimumatnormalfluidflow.·Acentrifugalpumporfannotoperatingonitsbestefficiencypoint(BEP)ofthecurve.Acarefullifecyclecostande
