4、d,includingitsdistinctfeatures,potentialmeritsandapplications,andtheproblemsfromwhichtheexistingP2P-baseddatasharingsystemsaresufferingarefurtherpointout.Toaddresstheseproblems,theconceptofP2P-basedinformationretrievalisproposed,whichcannotonlyexploitthepotentialmeritsofP2Ptoovercomethepro
5、blemsoftraditionalinformationretrievalsystems(e.g.,lackingofscalability),butalsoachievefullysemanticretrievalandsharinginthecontextofP2Psystems.Basedontheideology,PeerIS,aP2P-basedinformationretrievalsystemisdeveloped.Then,thearchitectureofPeerISanditspeers’componentsarepresented.Thekeyiss
