2、skingusingdatafromtwolargenationalsurveysofworkersthe2011CanadianWork,Stress,andHealthStudyandthe2002NationalStudyoftheChangingWorkforce.Wefindthatthefollowinggroupsinbothsurveysengageinfrequentmultitasking:(1)individualswithhighereducationandincome;(2)executivesandprofessionals,businessowners,these
3、lf-employed,andsupervisors;(3)thosewhoworkathomeorsomeplaceotherthanawayfromhomeatafixedlocation;and(4)thosewhoworklonghours,asecondjob,havejobpressure,andreceivemorework-relatedcontactoutsideregularworkhours,andhavemorechallengingwork.Collectively,ourfindingselaborateonthedeterminantsofmultitask-ing
4、underscoringthedifferentialandsometimes-unexpectedinfluencesofsocioeconomicstatus,job-relateddemands,resources.Mostimportantly,ourresultssuggestaremarkabledegreeofsimilarityinboththepatternsamongthedeterminantsandtheirinterrelationshipsamongCanadianandAmericanworkers.KeywordsMultitaskingWorkfamilyi
