2、tanytime,networkissuesandotherfactorswouldcausenegativeinfluenceonuserexperience.HybridP2Ptechnologycansolvethisproblem.InhybridP2Pnetwork,P2Ptechnologyiscombinedwithclient/serverarchitecture.ThehybridP2Psystemisnotonlyscalable,butalsoprovidesreliablequalityofservice.HybridP2Pnetworktechnologyis
3、nowusedinmanycommercialVideo-on-Demandsystems.ABitTorrent-LikeVideo-on-Demandsystem(referredtoasBLVoD)isproposedinthisthesis.BLVoDimplementshybridP2Parchitecture,whichisscalablewithreliablequalityofservice.Themaincontributionofthisthesisasfollows:(1)DesignBLVoDsystemarchitecture,includingphysica
4、lentities,interfaces,protocolsandsystemprocesses.ThearchitecturebasedonhybridP2Pnetwork.Meanwhile,BLVoDprovidesmanagementandmaintenancefunctions,whichmakeseffortstowardsacommercialP2P-VoDsystem.(2)Designandimplementationofon-linevideoserver,whichiscapabletoprovideconcurrencyvideoserviceandrespon
5、seadministrativeoperations.(3)Referencesthenewlyresearchresults,werealizechunkselectionalgorithmandschedulingalgorithminpeerside.Thischunkselectionstrategyisself-adaptation,whichcombinesgreedyalgorithmandrarestalgorithm.ThetestshowsthatBLVoDsystemnotonlyprovidegoodqualityofP2P-VoDservice,butalso
