2、softheprocessplanningintheenterprise,itsdesignisthebottleneckduringmanufacturing,whichrestrainstoimprovetheefficiencyandleadtime.Andfixturedesignisacomplicatedprocess,basedonexperiencethatneedscomprehensivequalitativeknowledgeaboutanumberofdesignissuesincludingworkpiececonfiguration,man
3、ufacturingprocessesinvolved,andmachiningenvironment.ThisisalsoaverytimeconsumingworkwhenusingtraditionalCADtools(suchasUnigraphics,CATIAorPro/E),whicharegoodatperformingdetaileddesigntasks,butprovidefewbenefitsfortakingadvantageofthepreviousdesignexperienceandresources,whichareprecisely
4、thekeyfactorsinimprovingtheefficiency.Themethodologyofcasebasedreasoning(CBR)adaptsthesolutionofapreviouslysolvedcasetobuildasolutionforanewproblemwiththefollowingfoursteps:retrieve,reuse,revise,andretain[1].Thisisamoreusefulmethodthantheuseofanexpertsystemtosimulatehumanthoughtbecausep
5、roposingasimilarcaseandapplyingafewmodificationsseemstobeselfexplanatoryandmoreintuitivetohumans.Sovariouscasebaseddesignsupporttoolshavebeendevelopedfornumerousareas[2-4],suchasininjectionmoldinganddesign,architecturaldesign,diecastingdiedesign,processplanning,andalsoinfixturedesign.Su
