3、ftheoreticalandexperimentalstudieshavebeendevotedforabetterunderstandingoftheopticalandelectronicpropertiesofbentsemiconductorNWs.Centraltoprogressinthisareahavebeentheinvestigationsaboutelectronicproperties,passivewaveguidesandluminescenceproperties.However,tothebestofourknowledge,fewresearchesab
4、outthebendingeffectsonthelasingactionofsemiconductorNWshavebeenreported,whichcouldbeveryimportantandessentialtofurtherinvestigationsaboutimprovementsofthenanolasersandwideapplicationsinintegratedoptoelectronicsystem.Inthispaper,basedonthegeneraldescriptionofvariouskindsofnanolasersandinfluenceonth
5、epropertiesofsemiconductorNWswithdifferenttypesofstrain,weinvestigatethebendingeffectsonthesemiconductorNWlaserssystematically,includingtheloss,threshold,modes,andpolarizationsInthefirstpart,westartourinvestigationfrombendinglossandthresholdconditionofthesemiconductorNWlaser.Ascurvatureradiusreduc
6、es,bendinglossincreases,thresholdincreasesanddifferentialefficiencydecreases.Itisworthmentioningthatwehavediscoveredaveryinterestingphenomenon:thebendinglossofthethickNWishigherthanthatofthethinone.Withthehelpofthesoftwaresimulations,wecomeupwiththeconclusionthatthemode—dependenceofthebendinglossi
