2、lly,whenthetransmittingarrayissparseandthereceivingarrayiscompact,theMIMOradaruseswidetransmittingmodeandcreatesnogratinglobes,whichhasveryhighresearchvalue.Thispaper'sresearchobjectisjustsuchvirtualaperturewhichisgeneratedbysparse-transmittingandcompact-receivingarray.
3、Wehavestudiedandanalyzedtheantennapattern,clutterfeatures,MTDalgorithmsandSTAPalgorithmsofsuchvirtualaperture.Themainjobwehavedoneisasfollows:1.WestudiedtheechosignalmodelofairborneMIMOradarandderivedtheprincipleofvirtualarrayfromtheequivalentbeam-formingofreceivingandt
4、ransmittingarray.Accordingtothetheoreticalderivation,whenoneendofthetransmittingandreceivingendissparseandthearrayelementspacingmeetscertainconditions,wecangetmaximumcontinuousvirtualaperture.BysimulatingthejointpatternofMIMOvirtualaperture,wecangetthatMIMOvirtualapertu
5、rehasnarrowermainlobeandithasmuchhigherspatialresolution.AstheMIMOradartransmitsorthogonalsignal,itbelongstowidetransmittingmode.Whenthetransmittingarrayissparse,MIMOradargeneratesnohighgaingratinglobes,whichisinfavorofradar'sstealth.Fromaboveall,wewillgetthatthevirtual
6、apertureofMIMOradarhasveryhighresearchvalue.2.Beginningwiththecompositionofairborneradargroundclutter,wehavestudiedsomefeaturesofthemain-lobeclutter,side-lobeclutterandaltitudeclutter.Wehavealsolearnedsomecommonmethodsofcluttersimulationandthenon-idealfactorsofclutter.W
7、ededucedtheprincipleofequidistance-scattering-unit-integrationmethodandthecalculationmethodofminimumvariancespectrum.Inthesimulationexperiment,wecomparedtheclutterspectrumofphasedarray,compact-arrayMIMOandvirtual-arrayMIMO,andgetthatthevirtual-arrayMIMOhasbetterperforma
