1、山东大学硕士学位论文感大大降低，并且这与明快的乡村社会生活也形成了巨大反差。如果说，民教双方在宗教信仰上的差异使得双方难以互相理解和通容的话；那么可以说，民教双方在生活习俗上的差异使得双方的隔阂和误解进一步加深，也正是这一因素使得梨园屯教案不断地趋向恶化。传统的乡村社会基本上处于自治或半自治状态。在维护乡村社会秩序、实现乡村社会自治的过程中，乡村士绅精英依据民间文化规则行使其最主要的一大职能，即调解各种各样的民事纠纷，使乡村社会内部的各种矛盾和争端得以消弭和平息。然而，教会进入地方社会后，地方官吏的权威严重受损，

2、乡村士绅精英也遭受打击，乡村调解机制也遭到破坏。在梨园屯教案中，地方官为了平息争讼，不得不一次次启用民间调解机制，但都没有成效。原因就在于原来的乡村民事调解机制已经在教会的冲击下陷入瘫痪而不再起作用了。在这种情况下，民教双方要想解决争讼，只好向外寻求新的解决办法和途径，教会方面当然是一贯依靠强权，而村民一方，在乡村底层布衣精英的领导下，则从村外寻求新的庇护力量“梅花拳"组织，民教双方的这种需要也就最终就导致了教会与义和团的外在对抗形式。‘关键词：中西文化；冲突；梨园屯教案；宗教信仰：生活习俗；民间调解机制山东大学
