2、llcontent.So,theSPADvaluecanbeusedtopredictthecropnitrogenstatus.BecausethesizeofcottonleafismorebiggerthanthetestsiteofSPAD-502Chlorophyllmeter,itisimportanttodecidethemostsuitabletestsiteofSPAD-502Chlorophyllmeterincottonleaf.AfieldandtwoculturesolutionexperimentswereconductedandtheSPADvaluesm
3、easuredat17sitesindifferentcottonleafwereusedtoinvestigatethecorrelationbetweennitrogennutritionstatusofcottonplantandleafSPADvalueunderdifferentnitrogenapplication.Mainresultsare:(1)Thetipareaofthereversed4thcottonleaffromtheapexofthemainstemisthebesttestingsiteforSPADvalue,becausethereissignif
4、icantcorrelationbetweenthenitrogencontentandSPADvaluesofthe4thleaf,andotherleavesdon’thaveit.ThecorrelationbetweenthenitrogennutritionandSPADvalueswasalsodifferentindifferentdeterminesitesofinversefourthleaf,whichS3(neartipofleaf)showedthebestsignificantcorrelationbetweenSPADandNconcentrationofc
5、ottonshoot.TheresultssuggestthatthelocationofneartipofleafininversefourthleafwasthemostappropriatesitetoestimatethenitrogennutritionstatusofcottonwithSPADvalue.(2)ItisnotsuitabletodetermineorpredicttheconditionofthesoilnitrogenunderfieldconditionsonlyusingSPADvalues.Theresultsshowedagoodcorrelat
6、ionbetweenthecottongrowthandnitrogenapplicationrateatdifferentgrowthstages,andinadditiontolateboll,thecottongrowthwasincreasedsignificantlywiththenitrogenfertilizerincreasinginV-2therangeof0-400kg·hafornitrogen.Theresultsofculturesolutionexperimentshowedthatthereisagoodcorrelationbetweenthenitro
7、genapplicationrateandtheamountofcottongrowth,nitrogenuptake,leafnitrogencontentandleafSPADvalue,andthecorrelationcoefficientwasthe0.785,0.876,0.984and0.878,respectively.However,underfieldconditions,itonlyshowedsameresultsint
