1、AbstractTheincreasingnumberofusersandemergingoflargebandwidthmultimediaapplicationsmakeresourceallocationbecomemoreandmoreimportant.Inwirelinenetworks,selfishusersalwaystrytousemorebandwidth.ThisseverelyaffectstheQoS(QualityofService)ofotherusersanddecreasestheoveralln

2、etwork’sperformances.Therefore,newbandwidthallocationalgorithmsareneededtosolvetheunfairbandwidthallocationproblem.Inwirelessnetworks,mostofthelicensedspectrumisunderutilized.TheFCC(FederalCommunicationsCommission)suggestedimprovementsonspectrumusagetoefficientlyalloca

3、tespectrumtounlicenseduserswithoutimpactingtheprimarylicensees.Thishasstimulatedaswarmofresearcherstoworkonthedynamicspectrumallocation.First,westudythebandwidthallocationinwirelinenetworkswithselfishusers.AnewalgorithmbasedonVCG(Vickrey-Clarke-Groves)auction-basedmech

4、anismisproposed.ThedominatestrategyincentivecompatiblepropertyandtheNashEquilibriumsolution’sexistenceanduniquenessareproven.Basedonthis,weintroduceadiscretestochasticlearningalgorithmtohelpuserstomakecorrectdecision.Theconvergenceofthealgorithmisalsoanalyzed.Second,we

5、mainlyconcernthespectrumallocationinunderlaycognitiveradionetworks.BoththeinterferencetemperatureconstraintsandtheQoSoftheunlicensedusersareconsidered.Thefirstapproachistodevelopajointadmissioncontrolandpowercontrolalgorithm.Inordertodecreasetheinterferencetemperaturev

6、iolationprobability,threeremovalcriterionsareproposedunderthreedifferentconditions.ItcansatisfyboththeQoSconstraintsforacceptedunlicensedusersandtheinterferencetemperatureconstraintsforprimaryusersindensenetworks.Thesecondapproachistoformulatethespectrumallocationprobl
