3、.Thedirectionsforthefutureworksarealsopresented.1IntroductionJust-In-Time(JIT)manufacturingsystemwasdevelopedbyTaiichiOhnowhichiscalledJapanese“Toyotaproductionsystem”JITmanufacturingsystemhastheprimarygoalofcontinuouslyreducingandultimatelyeliminatingallformsofwaste
4、s(Brownetal.[5],Ohno[54],Sugimorietal.[82]).Basedonthisprinciple,Japanesecompaniesareoperatingwithverylowlevelofinventoryandrealizingexceptionallyhighlevelofqualityandproductivity(RichardJ.Tersine[62],JamesH.Greene[30]).JITemphasizes“zeroconcept”whichmeansachievement
5、ofthegoalsofzerodefects,zeroqueues，zeroinventories,zerobreakdownandsoon.Itensuresthesupplyofrightpartsinrightquantityintherightplaceandattherighttime.Hence,theoldsystem...ofmaterialacquisitionand,buyerandsellerrelationshipsarechangedtonewrevolutionaryconcepts(Womacke
6、tal.[91],WomackandJones[92],Markeyetal.[45]).Similarly,JITbecomesaninevitablesystematplantlevel,whichintegratesthecellularmanufacturing,flexiblemanufacturing,computerintegratedmanufacturingandRobotics(Schonberger[63],Golhar[12]).Duetothetechnologicaladvancement,theco
7、nventionalmethodofpushproductionsystemlinkedwithMaterialRequirementPlanning(MRP)waschangedtopulltypeJITproductionsystemtomeetouttheglobalcompetition,wherethework-in-process(WIP)canbemanagedandcontrolledmoreaccuratelythanthepush-productionsystem(MasonPaul[46]).KANBANs
