6、edfordirectionality.ThesemeasuresareDavidBuntingappliedtodatafromasampleoflargeAmericancorpora-tionsin1904,andtheresultsarecomparedwiththehistori-calrecord.Resultsfromthemoresophisticatedmeasuresareshowntomorecloselyresemblehistoricalaccountsoftheperiod.Implicationsofthesefindin
