3、icultiesincontrollingtheincreasingmethanelevels,increasingmechanization,theuseofexplosivesandnotpayingcloseattentiontomethanecontrolsystems.Themainpurposesofthispaperaretoestablishsitemeasurementsusingsomecriticalparametersthatarcnotpartofthestandardmining-controlmethodsforr
4、iskassessmentandtoanalyzethegasbehaviorofsubverticalcoalseamsindeepminesinordertopreventgasincidentsfromoccurring.Theultimategoalistheimprovementinminingconditionsandthereforeinsafetyconditions・Forthispurpose,twodifferentmineswereinstrumentedforminecontrolandmonitoring.Bothm
5、inesbelongtotheRiosa-Olloniegocoalfield,intheAsturiasCentralBasin,Spainandtheareasinstrumentedarcminedviasubhorizontalsublevelsatanactualdepthofaround1000mundertheoverburdenofMountLusorio.Duringthisresearch,apropertyfavoringgasoutburstswassitemeasuredforthefirsttimeinanoutbu
6、rst-pronecoal(SthCoalbed),gaspressureanditsvariations,whichcontributedtocompletethedataavailablefrompreviouscharacterizationsandtosetsomeguidelinesforassessingthepotentialoutburst-proneareas.Agas-mcasurcmcnt-tubcsethasbeendesignedformeasuringgaspressureaswellasitsvariationov
