2、ordsthatareinthemostfrequent2000wordsofEnglish.TheAWLwasprimarilymadesothatitcouldbeusedbyteachersaspartofaprogrammepreparinglearnersfortertiarylevelstudyorusedbystudentsworkingalonetolearnthewordsmostneededtostudyattertiaryinstitutions.TheAcademicWordListreplacestheUniversityWordList.Sub

3、listsoftheAcademicWordListEachwordinitalicsisthemostfrequentlyoccurringmemberofthewordfamilyintheAcademicCorpus.Forexample,analysisisthemostcommonformofthewordfamilyanalyse.BritishandAmericanspellingisincludedinthewordfamilies,socontextualiseandcontextualizearebothincludedinthefamilyconte
