3、landsocialsenseofselfthateveryonehasandexpectseveryoneelsetorecognize”(2000:60).Somescholarsdividetheconceptof“face”intotwoaspects:the“positiveface”andthe“negativeface”,andputforwardthe“face-savingtheory”.The“positiveface”meanstheneedofbeingacceptedandapprovedbythecollecti
4、ve.The“negativeface”meanstheneedoffreedom,independenceandnotbebotheredbyotherpeople.Whenone’sbehaviorthreatsthe“face”oftheotherperson,theoffendershouldtaketheface-savingactiontomaketheremedy.Therefore,savingthe“face”oftheoffenderhimselforherself,andgivingthe“face”tothelist
