3、slationandlawenforcementduetoitscharacteristicsofcomplexity,intelligence,cross-borderandanonymity.Forexample,severalcountriescanbeinvolvedintoasamecybercrimecase(e.g.acybercriminalinJapanattacksacompanyinChinathroughU.S.sever)andthusresultinconflictofjurisdict
4、ion.Furthermore,thecybercriminalattacktargetcaneasilyshiftfromanareawithhigherriskofseverepunishmenttothelowerone(e.g.somedevelopingcountriessuchaschina)becauseoftheexistinglegislativedifferenceacrosscountries,whichwillactuallyleavethosedevelopingcountriesunde
5、rgreaterriskandmeanwhilepresentdifficultiesincombatingcybercrimeatgloballevel.Thispaperpresentsacomparativeanalysisofthelawenforcementtowardcybercrimeinvariouscountries:theUnitedStates,theUnitedKingdom,Australia,China,andotherEuropeancountries.Firstlywesummari
6、zethecybercriminaleventsreportedbypublicmediainvariouscountries.Further,basedonthecriminaltarget,wecategorizedcybercriminaleventsintofivetypes:government-and-public-targetedcrime,commercial-organization-targetedcrime,individual-targetedcrime,internetchildrenpo
7、rnographyandothers.Andthenwefocusourstudyonthemostoutstandingissueswhichdeserveourgreatconcern:creditcardfraud,socialnetworkingcrime,internetchildpornographyandjuveniledelinquency.Weanalyzedthepunishmentdifferencesaroundtheworld,andfoundthatEuropeancountriesan
