6、whichalllanguagesaresimilar,andto'particulars'--thewaysinwhicheachindividuallanguage,ortypeoflanguage,isspecial,evenunique.Linguistsandothersocialscientistsinterestedinuniversalshaveformulatedtheoriestodescribeandexplainhumanlanguageandhumanlanguagebehavioringener

7、altermsasspecies-specificcapacitiesofhumanbeings.However,theideathatdifferentlanguagesmayinfluencethinkingindifferentwayshasbeenpresentinmanyculturesandhasgivenrisetomanyphilosophicaltreatises.Becauseitissodifficulttopindowneffectsofaparticularlanguageonaparticula
