3、directlyresultinthegreatdifferencebetweenChineseandEnglishtaboos.Withtheconsiderationofthedifferentculturesandcustoms,weshouldavoidusingoffensiveexpression.Cross-culturalcommunicationisanimportantpartofmoderncommunication.Thephenomenonoftabooscanmakethecross-cul
4、turalcommunicationmoreappropriate.Evidently,linguistictaboosareareflectionofthesesocialdevelopmentandthevalueconceptsandbeliefsofthecultureinwhichtheyareborn.Tabooshaveagreatinfluenceuponthepeople’sculturallifeandmateriallife.Therefore,taboosarewellworthstudying
