3、cturesarebelievedtobeexcitedbyinflowturbulence,wake,andinflow-structureinteraction,whichareverycomplicated.Althoughresearchershavebeenfocusingontheproblemforover30years,thedatabaseofacross-windloadsandeffectsandthecomputationmethodsofequivalentstaticwindl
4、oadshavenotyetbeendeveloped,mostcountrieshavingnorelatedrulesintheloadcodes.Researchresultsontheacross-windeffectsoftallbuildingsandstructuresmainlyinvolvethedeterminationofacross-windaerodynamicforcesandacross-windaerodynamicdamping,developmentoftheirdat
5、abases,theoreticalmethodsofequivalentstaticwindloads,andsoon.Inthispaperwefirstreviewthecurrentresearchonacross-windloadsandeffectsofsuper-tallbuildingsandstructuresbothathomeandabroad.Thenwepresenttheresultsofourstudy.Finally,weillustrateacasestudyinwhic
6、hourresearchresultsareappliedtoatypicalsuper-tallstructure.IntroductionWiththedevelopmentofscienceandtechnology,structuresarebecominglarger,longer,taller,andmoresensitivetostrongwind.Thus,windengineeringresearchersarefacingwithmorenewchallenges,evenproble
7、mstheyarecurrentlyunawareof.Forexample,theconstructionofsupertallbuildingsisnowprevalentaroundtheworld.TheChicagoSearsTowerwithaheightof443mhaskepttherecordoftheworld’stallestbuildingfor26yearsnow.Dozensofsuper-tallbuildingswithheightsofover400maresettobe
