3、ce,wake,andinflow-structureinteraction,whichareverycomplicated.Althoughresearchershavebeenfocusingontheproblemforover30years,thedatabaseofacross-windloadsandeffectsandthecomputationmethodsofequivalentstaticwindloadshavenotyetbeendeveloped,mostcountrieshavingnorelatedrulesinthe
4、loadcodes.Researchresultsontheacross-windeffectsoftallbuildingsandstructuresmainlyinvolvethedeterminationofacross-windaerodynamicforcesandacross-windaerodynamicdamping,developmentoftheirdatabases,theoreticalmethodsofequivalentstaticwindloads,andsoon.Inthispaperwefirstreviewthe
5、currentresearchonacross-windloadsandeffectsofsuper-tallbuildingsandstructuresbothathomeandabroad.Thenwepresenttheresultsofourstudy.Finally,weillustrateacasestudyinwhichourresearchresultsareappliedtoatypicalsuper-tallstructure.IntroductionWiththedevelopmentofscienceandtechnolog
6、y,structuresarebecominglarger,longer,taller,andmoresensitivetostrongwind.Thus,windengineeringresearchersarefacingwithmorenewchallenges,evenproblemstheyarecurrentlyunawareof.Forexample,theconstructionofsupertallbuildingsisnowprevalentaroundtheworld.TheChicagoSearsTowerwithaheig
7、htof443mhaskepttherecordoftheworld’stallestbuildingfor26yearsnow.Dozensofsuper-tallbuildingswithheightsofover400maresettobeconstructed.BurjDubaiTowerwithaheightof828mhasjustbeencompleted.Indevelopedcountries,thereareevenproposalstobuild“citiesintheair”withthousandsofmetersofma
