3、afterreviewingthecommonkeysuccessfactorsdiscussedintheliterature,discussedsevenissues:codingsystem,workingprocessreengineering,priorityofERPfunctionalityimplementation,customization,participantroles,consultantroleandperformancelevelofsubcontractor,whichalsoaffectedtheimpleme
4、ntation.LessonslearnedfromthecasestudyindiscussedsevenissuesarevaluableforaconstructioncompanyindecidingtoimplementanERPsystem.ThisstudysuggeststhatadditionalcasestudiesarenecessaryforthesuccessfulapplicationofERPsystemsintheconstructionindustry.ERPimplementationisa'TriplePl
5、ay'thatcombinespeople,technology,andprocesses.Itembodiesacompleximplementationprocess,especiallyindevelopingcountrieslikeChina,oftentakingseveralyears,hugeamountoffundandinvolvingamajorbusinessprocessreengineeringexercise.AnattempthasbeenmadetoidentifysomeChinese-specificdif
6、ficultiesintheimplementationprocessandprovidesolutionstoimplementERPsystemsuccessfullythroughquestionnairesurvey,interviews,andsecondarydata.Onthebasisofanalysisofquestionnaireresults,somecommondifficultieshavebeenexploredbyauthors,suchassupportoftopmanagement,costlyandtime-
7、consuming,culturaldifferences,technicalcomplexity,lackofprofessionalpersonnel,andinnerresistance.Thedifficultiesarelargelyduetothenatureofenterprise'sownershipandsize.Suggestedsolutionstoovercomethesedifficulties:ERPsoftwarepackagesselection,ERPimplementationteam,BPR,Trainin
