3、iddevelopmenthasalteredthecity'slandscapeonamassivescale,continuallyerodingthedelicateurbantissueofoldBeijing.Suchdramaticchangeshaveforcedanagingarchitecturetorelyonchaotic,spontaneousrenovationstosurvivetheever-changingneighborhood.Inaddition,poorstandardsofhygienehavetu

6、tionlikemagnets,attractingnewpeople,activities,andresourcestoreactivateentireneighborhoods.Theyexistinsymbiosiswiththeoldhousing. Fueledbytheenergytheyhelpedtorenew,thebubblesmultiplyandmorphtoprovideforthecommunity'svariousneeds,therebyallowinglocalresidentstocontinuelivi
