在一起，她叫碧，来自南非，我们对美国圣诞节的那种狂热的期盼搞得她都有点难以忍受，这也可以理解。但她还是非常热心地和我们一道装饰房屋，唱歌跳舞，烹煮食物，这使得那个节日对我们来说就倍感特殊。圣诞节的那天早晨，所有的礼物都见分晓后，父母亲怀着极大的喜悦心情，把那个神秘的信封交给了碧，并把布朗家的寻宝传统一五一十地向她说了一遍。　　竟有这样过节的，碧看上去很惊奇，她兴奋地打开了信封。信封里面的那首诗说，今年的寻宝首先要找到藏在屋子各处的五个字母。从诗的最后一节我们知道，第一个要找的字母是“T”。　　遍寻角落找一个字母，　　这的确很难寻觅，　　在你仔细查找的各处，　　只有一个地方能找到“T”。　　只有一个地方能找到“T”？　　我的小弟弟最先猜出了个中究竟，他一跃而起，径直奔入厨房。我们也鱼贯而入，只见他拎起一个凳子，拖到吃早饭的角落，爬上台子，一把拿过妈妈装着一包包茶叶 的小盒子。果然不出所料，里面的一个精美卡片上写着字母“T”。　　真是妙极！　　从字母“T”这里，我们找到了另一个线索，这一线索巧妙地把我们引领到了地下室，我们在那里找到了粘在形状像“O”的呼啦圈的字母“O”。　　又是绝顶聪明！　　地下室的一些线索指引着我们在房屋的各处又寻觅了一番。我们在厨房里找到了字母“C”，原来塞在维生素“C”的小瓶子里。我在衣帽间找到了字母“E”，就藏在我的埃克赛特垒球队的队帽里（Exeter就提供了这个字母）。　　现在我们已经找到了四个字母(T-O-C-E)，但我们一点也不觉得离猜破那个神秘的礼物不远了。我们希望这第五个字母，也就是最后一个字母，能一下揭开谜底。然而，找寻这最后一个字母的线索却让我们一时丈二和尚摸不着头脑。　　你要找的这最后一个字母，　　没法说有多么容易，　　它就藏在一个特殊的房屋，　　那很自然地提供了一个“P”。　　一个特殊的房屋很自然地提供了一个“P”　　我在食品室里把罐装豌豆仔细审视了一遍。没有。　　我的小弟弟在卧室里把自己的菲利斯牌帽子搜查了一遍。没有。一个给“P”提供的自然之所？ 　　这回，是碧，我们那个交换留学生（他已经学会了不少美国俚语）突然气喘吁吁地站起身来，一下子冲到了楼上。一时间，我们兄妹几个还以为她哪儿不舒服呢……但我们随后就听到她高兴地尖叫起来。我们三步并做两步地跑到了楼上，发现碧在洗手间里，正歇斯底里地笑呢，一边还用手指着马桶。我们定睛往里一看，在那，我们太高兴了，我们找到了字母“P”，就粘在马桶的内侧。　　太好玩了，我们四个孩子笑得在地板上滚作一团。当然了，最高兴的莫过于我的父母亲。终于，我们总算能喘过气来，便赶忙回到起居室，开始破解这五个神秘的字母。　　T-O-C-E-P？　　我们把这五个字母摊在起居室的地板上，眼睛睁得大大的，看着。　　T…O…C…E…P？　　我们看不出任何意义。　　这回是小妹瓦莱丽最先看出了门道。她不敢相信地转过头看着父母亲。“不可能。”她喊道。“真的吗？”　　父母亲莞尔一笑。“是真的，我们明天一早就出发。”　　小妹瓦莱丽凯旋般地把T-O-C-E-P这五个字母重新排了序，我们几个则心醉神迷地注视着……他竟拼出了一个令人着迷的单词：EPCOT！刹那间，四个孩子在起居室里翩跹起舞，又唱又跳，欣喜若狂高声喊叫，唱起了：“埃普考特，埃普考特。”连我们的交换流学生碧都听说过沃尔沃特迪士尼世界埃普考特（Epcot）中心。她也和我们一道跳了起来。我们的美梦成真了！第二天早晨，我们一个不剩，都登上了飞往埃普考特的航班。　　这是我印象最深的圣诞节。
