3、nhighachieversandlowachievers.II.ResearchMethodology2.1InstrumentsInstrumentsusedinthisstudyinvolvedtwoEnglishlanguageproficiencytests:TEMandCET(Band4),andaquestionnaire.AdministeringtheQuestionnaireonEFLLearningformedicalpurposescollectedthequantitativedata.Thequalitativepartwasusedtosup
4、plementtheformer.ReliabilityanalysisofthequestionnaireitemswasperformedwithSPSS,inwhichAlpha=.6758.2.2Subjects236subjectsfrom14intactclassesintwouniversitiesinShijiazhuangandTangshaninMarchandApril,2003.The236subjectsinvolvedinthestudyweresophomoresofnon-Englishmajors.Amongthemthereare100
5、malesand136females,whoseagesrangingfrom17to22withanaverageoflessthan20.ThesesubjectswerechosenfromtwomedicaluniversitiesinHebei,China.AllofthemtookthenationalCollegeEnglishTestBand4(CET)atthebeginningof2003.ThesesubjectshadthesimilarexperienceofEnglishlearninginhighschoolthatmadeitpossibl
