5、learningofanother.(LongmanDictionaryofLanguageTeaching&AppliedLinguistics,2000)Intheprocessoftheforeignlanguagelearning,learnerswillunconsciouslybringthepronunciation,lexical,grammaticalstructures,andthoughtsofthemothertongueintothetargetlanguage.Asaresult,themo
6、thertonguehassomeinfluenceonthetargetlanguage.Thisphenomenoniscalledlanguagetransfer.Languagetransferincludespositivetransferandnegativetransfer.Positivetransferreferstothetransferinwhichlanguagelearners’knowledgeofthemothertongueimprovestheacquisitionofthenewkn
7、owledgeofthetargetlanguage.Negativetransfer,alsocalledinterference,isthephenomenoninwhichlanguagelearnersusethemodelsorrulesoftheirmothertongueinthetargetlanguage,resultingintheoutputoftheinformalorevenwrongexpressingformsofthetargetlanguage.IntheEnglishlanguage
