2、icpoems.Thisimagistpoemreflectstherelationshipbetweenrealityandimagery.Thepoemhasonlytwolineswithfourteenwords,butitcreatesfourdifferentframesbyusingfourconcreteanddirectimages:“faces”,“crowd”,“petals”and“bough”.Thepoemshowsthatinthebusyandconstrainedcity

7、sylvaniafortwoyearsandthentransferredtoHamiltonCollege,receivingadegreein1905.AfterteachingRomanceLanguagesatWabashCollegeinIndianafortwoyears,in1908,heresignedandsetsailforEurope,afterspendingseveralmonthsinVenicethenfinallysettleddowninLondon,where,asth
8、eliteraryexecutorofthescholarErnestFenellosa,hebecameinterestedintheChineseandJapanesepoetry.EzraPoundwasarebelandwantedtodothingshiswayinregardstopoetry-andsohedid.Hefirstlymadethenameof“Imagist”asanewkindofpoetry.
