3、oreignlanguagewithhigherefficiency!I.TheconceptofmotivationA. ThedefinitionofmotivationThestudyofmotivationisasoldasthestudyofpsychology.Researchershavealwayssoughttoknowwhatimpelspeopletotakevariousfromsimpleactionssuchaseatingtocomplexactionssuchaslearningaforeignlanguage.Manytheoriesofmot
4、ivationhavebeendevelopedtoexplainthecausesofpeople’sbehaviors.Butnosingletheorycanexplainallbehavior.Infact,mostpsychologistsbelievethatinbornmotivationandthelearningcausepeopletobehaveindifferentways.Tounderstandtheseinteractingforces,wemustfirstdefinemotivation,motivationisanycondition,usua
5、llyinternal,whichappearsbyinferencetoinitiate,activate,ormaintainanorganism’sgoal–directedbehavior.Let’sexaminethefourbasicpartsofmotivation(1)internalcondition;(2).inference(3).initiation,activation,ormaintenance;and(4).goal-directedbehavior.Motivationreflectsaninternalcondition.Thecondition
6、maydevelopfromphysiologicalneedsanddrivesorfromcomplexdesires,suchasthedesiretohelpothers,toobtainapproval,ortoearnahighincome.Motivationisaninferredconceptthatlinksaperson’sinternalconditionstoexternalbehavior.Itcannotbeobserveddirectly,butwecaninferitspresencebyitsbehavioraleffects.Motivati
