4、teraryworksmayfindalargenumberofthem.Withthedevelopmentofthesociety,slangiswidelyusedbymoreandmorepeople,especiallyinAmerica,slangcanbefoundfavorableintheAmericans’eyes.Itisacceptedbybothupper-classandlower-class,andespeciallythecollegestudentswhotendtouseup-to-datewordsthatformakindofcharac
5、teristicstyleofthemselves.SlangplaysanimportantpartinAmericanEnglish.ItisreportedthatslangaccountsforoneofthetenthofAmericanaveragevocabulary.People’sattitudetowardslangvariesfrompersontoperson.Somethinkthatslangcannotbeusedontheformaloccasion,foritisspokenbytheilliteratepeopleonlyandtheslan
