3、化IntroductionEnglishslangcanbedefinedtocommoncolloquiallanguage,andaccordingtothedefinitionoftheConciseOxfordEnglishDictionary(1985),slangisusuallyusedascolloquialwordsandphrase.ItcannotberegardedasStandard-English,thusthisshowsthat,slangisNonstandar
4、d-English.However,slangisverypopularintheEnglish-speakingcountriesnowadays.Slangisspokenbypeopleindailyspeech,andevenmagazineandliteraryworksmayfindalargenumberofthem.Withthedevelopmentofthesociety,slangiswidelyusedbymoreandmorepeople,especiallyinAme
5、rica,slangcanbefoundfavorableintheAmericans’eyes.Itisacceptedbybothupper-classandlower-class,andespeciallythecollegestudentswhotendtouseup-to-datewordsthatformakindofcharacteristicstyleofthemselves.SlangplaysanimportantpartinAmericanEnglish.Itisrepor
