2、ngthesweetspotreducedtofindingthespotwhichminimizetheenergytransferringbetweentheballandthebat.Numericalmethodsaregiventosolvethedynamicalequationandcomputethetotalenergythebatreceived.Usingourmodelandalgorithms,wecaneasilycalculatethepositionofthe“sweetspot”andanalyzeitsv
3、ariationwiththeparameterssuchasthegeometricalparametersandphysicsconstants.Ourcalculationshowsthattheenergytransferredintothebatisminimizedattheposition22inchesfromthehandleofthebat,whichmeansthemaximumpowertransferredtotheball.Themodelisinexcellentagreementwithexperimenta
4、ldata.Bychangingtheparameterssuchascrosssection,radiusandmomentofinertiainthemodel,wealsoanalyzedthecorkingbat,andanalyzedtheinfluenceofcorking.Wefindthatcorkingisslightenoughtoignore.BecauseofthedifferenceofdensityandYoungmodulusindifferentmaterials,theenergytransferredto
