4、chmustbetakentoensurethattheoutputvariablesliewithinpre-setlimits.Thecomputingpowerrequiredwilldependuponthetypeofprocesscontrolsystemimplemented.Softwarerequirementsforcarryingoutproportional,ratioorthreetermcontrolofprocessvariablesarerelativelytrivial,andmicrocomputerscanbeusedtoimplementsuchp

5、rocesscontrolsystems.Itwouldnotbepossibletousemanyofthecurrentlyavailablemicrocomputersfortheimplementationofhighspeedadaptivecontrolsystemswhichrequiretheuseofsuitableprocessmodelsandconsiderableon-linemanipulationofdata.Microcomputerbaseddataloggersareusedtocarryoutintermediatefunctionssuchasda

6、taacquisitionatcomparativelylowspeeds,simplemathematicalmanipulationsofrawdataandsomeformsofdatareduction.Thefirstgenerationofdataloggers,withoutanyprogrammablecomputingfacilities,wereusedsimplyforslowspeeddataacquisitionfromuptoonehundredchannels.Alltheacquireddatacouldbepunchedoutonpapertapeorp
