3、hecauseofofficialcelebrationofMothersDayanddeclarationofofficialholidayontheday. HerideaspreadbutwaslaterreplacedbytheMothers'DayholidaynowcelebratedinMay.AnnaJarvisAnnaJarvisisrecognisedastheFounderofMothersDayinUS.ThoughAnnaJarvisnevermarriedandneverhadkids,sheisalsoknownastheMother
4、ofMothersDay,anapttitlefortheladywhoworkedhardtobestowhonoronallmothers. AnnaJarvisgottheinspirationofcelebratingMothersDayfromherownmotherMrsAnnaMarieReevesJarvisinherchildhood.Anactivistandsocialworker,MrsJarvisusedtoexpressherdesirethatsomedaysomeonemusthonorallmothers,livingandde
5、ad,andpaytributetothecontributionsmadebythem. Alovingdaughter,Annaneverforgothermotherswordandwhenhermotherdiedin1905,sheresolvedtofulfillhermothersdesireofhavingamothersday.GrowingnegligentattitudeofadultAmericanstowardstheirmothersandadesiretohonorhermotherssoaredherambitions.Tobeg
6、inwithAnna,sendCarnationsinthechurchserviceinGrafton,WestVirginiatohonorhermother.CarnationswerehermothersfavoriteflowerandAnnafeltthattheysymbolisedamotherspurelove.LaterAnnaalongwithhersupporterswroteletterstopeopleinpositionsofpowerlobbyingfortheofficialdeclarationofMothersDayholid
