2、nylapactsandinteractions.CLERPAct1999:takeoverlaanditsimpactsinAustraliaThetakeoverlegislationinAustraliacanbetracedbacktothetakeoverscodeintroducedbytheUniformpaniesCodein1961.Thislegislationorethanadozenoftimes,buttakeoverprovisionsostthesamealthoughtheSimplificationTaskForcehadplannedt

3、oreformthemrelatingtorelevantinterests,associaterelationshipsandentitlements.(1)AftertheCLERPreplacedtheCorporateLaplificationProgram,theendeavourtoreformthetakeoverprovisionscontinued,andtheemphasisovedtofacilitateamoreefficientmarketforcorporatecontrolbecausetheobjectiveoftheCLERPotinga

4、strongandvibranteconomyandprovidesaframeicfocustocorporatela.AsapartoftheCLERP,takeoverlasaccordinglye,particularlyforminorityinvestors.TheCLERPActhasrepealedtheanagedinvestmentschemesandlistedbodies.ThemainreformsaresummarisedasfolloakestheCorporationsandSecuritiesPaneltheprimaryforumfor
