3、egantoreadthebook,IdidnotcareforMargueriteorherattitudeorlifestyle,butasIgotfurtherintothenarrative,Irealizedthathersaucyattitudewasafronttocoverthelonelywomanthatshereallywas.Shefeltused,abusedandunloved,untilthegentleArmandDuvalcameintoherlifeandshowedherthat
4、helovedherasapersonandnotforwhatshecoulddoforhim.ItmusthavetakengreatcourageforMargueritetoleavethelifeshehadlivedforsolong,knowingallalongthatitwasprobablytoogoodtobetrueandwouldnotlastindefinitely.AnditalsoshowedthatMargueritereallylovedArmandDuvalforshecould
5、evenchangeherselfforhim. However,happinessdidn’tlastforlong.WhenM.Duval,Armand'sfather,cametoher,pleadingforhertoleaveArmandtosavebothArmand'sreputationandthatofhisyoungerinnocentsister,Margueritesawawaytobecomepureofheart,ifnotinbody.Shefeltthatitwasherduty,b
