2、phicpatternsofneuropathicosteoarthropathyaredepictedradiologically.Theclassicallydescribedhypertrophicjointismanifestedradiologicallyasjointdestructionandfragmentation,osseoussclerosis,andosteophyteformation.Theatrophicformofneuropathicosteoarthropathyhasanappearance

3、ofosseousresorptionthatoftengivestheimpressionofsurgicalamputation.Theatrophictypemayappearsimilartosepticarthritis,andthehypertrophictype,asmentionedearlier,mayappearsimilartoosteoarthritis.Jointdisorganizationandlargepersistentbloodyjointeffusionarefeaturesofbothat

4、rophicandhypertrophictypesofneuropathicosteoarthropathy,and,whensevere,bothtypesexhibitdisorganizationmoreprofoundthanthatseeninotherformsofarthropathy.Milderdegreesofthedisease,however,maybedifficulttodiagnose.Fracturesareanimportantalthoughlesswell-knownmanifestati

5、onofneuropathicosteoarthropathy.Thesefracturesmayoccurspontaneouslyorinthepresenceofminortrauma.Neuropathicosteoarthropathyinthenon–weight-bearingjointsoftheupperextremityisrelativelyrarecomparedwiththatinthelowerextremity.Themostcommoncauseofaneuropathicshoulderissy
