2、ialthatthisphaseoforalsurgerybegiventhesamecarefulstudyandapplicationofsoundsurgicalprinciplesasisgiventosurgeryinanyotherpartofthehumanbody.IndicationsfortheextractionofteethThefollowingareindicationsfortheextractionofteeth.(a)teeththatarefociofinfections;(b)teethwithnonvitalpulp

3、s,oracuteorchronicpulpitiswhenrootcanaltherapyisnotindicated;(c)incasesofsevereperiodontoclasiainwhichexcessivebonysupportoftheteethisdestroyed;Indicationsfortheextractionofteeth(d)teethnottreatablebyapicoectomy;(e)teethmechanicallyinterferingwiththeplacementofrestorativeappliance

4、s;(f)teethnotrestorablebyoperativedentistry;(g)impactedteeth;(h)supernumeraryteeth;(i)retaineddeciduousteethwhenasuccedaneoustoothispresent,andinnormalpositiontoerupt;Indicationsfortheextractionofteeth(j)teethwithfracturedcrown;(k)malposedteethnotamenabletoorthodontictreatment;(l)

5、roots;(m)teeththataretraumatizingsofttissues,ifothertreatmentwillnotpreventthistrauma.Contraindications:systemicdiseases11.Uncontrolleddiabetesmellitus2.Cardiacdisease,suchascoronaryarterydisease.hypertension,andcardiacdecompensation,e.g.postinfarctionwithin6months3.Blooddyscrasia

6、ssuchasanemias,hemorrhagicdiseasese.g.hemophilia,andtheleukemias.4.Debilitatingdiseasesofanykindmakingpatientspoorrisksforfurthertraumaticinsults.5.Addison'sdiseaseoranysteroiddeficiency,suchasthepatientwhohasbeentreatedforanydiseasewithsteroidtherapymaynothavesufficientadrenalcor

7、texsecretiontowithstandthestressofanextractionwithouttakingadditionalsteroids.Contraindications:systemicdiseases26.Feverofunexplainedoriginisrarelycuredandoftenisworsenedbyextraction,e.g.subacutebacterialendocarditiswouldbecomplicatedconsiderablybyanextraction.7.Nephritis8.Pregnan
