2、hthewallsoftheintestinespressingagainstoneanother.This,inturn,leadstoswelling,inflammation,anddecreasedbloodflowtotheintestinesinvolved.TypesofIntussusceptionMostcasesIntussusceptionareileocolic.Ileo-ileoandileo-ileocolicareaccountingfornomorethan10~12%.Thesetypesaremoredifficulttodiagnoseandtendtob
3、edelayed;consequentlycomplicationssuchasbowelnecrosisandperforationaremorecommon.TypesofIntussusceptionDr.Rafinesqueclassifiedintussusceptionintofourtypes;hyperacute,acute,subacute,chronic(i.e.,patientssurvivingformorethan14days).OthertypesAverytypeisBackandforth,antegradeandretrogradetelescopingoft

5、ninboysthaningirlsCausesofIntussusception(1)Ininfants,thecausesofintussusceptionareunknown,althoughtherearesometheoriesaboutwhyitoccurs.Becauseintussusceptionisseenmostofteninspringandfall,thisseemstosuggestapossibleconnectiontothekindsofvirusesthatchildrencatchduringtheseseasons,includingupperrespi
6、ratoryinfections.CausesofIntussusception(2)Insomecases,intussusceptionmayfollowarecentboutofgastroenteritis.Gastrointestinalinfectionsmaycauseswellingofthelymphtissuethatlinestheintestine.CausesofIntussusception(2)Recently,therehasalsobeensomeinvestigationintotherotavirusvaccineanditspossibleconnect
